JOB SUMMARY

HMI is actively seeking a software engineer to design, implement, document, and maintain test code and associated infrastructure that enables software and machine learning development for an agile robotics development project. This role requires strong understanding of code and script languages, Linux/Unix administration, version control, and Docker deployment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelors in CS (or higher) with 3 years’ experience
  • Experience using Ansible, Puppet, Chef or an equivalent
  • Strong understanding of C++, Python, and Bash
  • Experience with test-driven development and common software test frameworks
  • Experience with Git, or equivalent version control system
  • Experience with Gitlab CI, Travis CI, Jenkins2 or equivalent code integration pipeline tool
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Kubeflow or other associated MLOps tools
  • Experience with Docker
  • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services

 Preferred

  • Understand Agile methodologies (Scrum)
  • ROS experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing some duties of this job, the employee may be required to travel domestically and internationally. This role may also require exposure to a variety of construction and/or offshore platform job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas, which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
