Job Summary

This position is responsible for collaborating with electrical engineers and manufacturing personnel to maintain and improve the quality of electronic components and products. This person will be required to work within the Altium Designer CAD package to maintain the libraries of components, pcb assemblies, and wiring diagram. He/she will also work with the manufacturing team to improve the quality of our design outputs: bill of materials, PCBA fabrication packages, and wire harness drawings.

Job Duties:

  • Manage Altium Vault including maintenance of existing parts and commonly shared parts
  • Exercise all tools within the Altium Designer ecosystem 
  • Update and maintain component BOMs, fabrication files, and assembly documents.
  • Work with Manufacturing to update parts as needed based on QA/QC, cost optimization, or ease of manufacturing.

Job Skills and Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering technology or Computer Aided Design.
  • At least four (4) years of work experience creating and updating electrical drawings and PCBA design packages
  • At least four (4) years using Altium Designer, Altium Nexxus/Vault, and or similar PCBA design CAD packages
  • Working knowledge of electrical circuitry and design
  • Excellent technical communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work within strict deadlines

Preferred:

  • Experience within the automotive, aerospace, or robotics industries.
  • Experience with ASME-Y14 drafting standards.
  • Design for manufacturing (DFM)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. 
  • The employee will also be frequently required to stand. 
  • The employee must frequently lift, push, or pull equipment at a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, maneuver in tight spaces, and stand for extended periods

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing some duties of this job, the employee may be required to travel domestically and internationally. This role may also require exposure to a variety of construction and/or offshore platform, various bodies of water job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. 

The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas, which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
